Description

Just finished this for my Figure Drawing class a few hours ago. Blegh, I love using lost and found edges (as you can see in my other charcoal drawings) but man, I got so far to go till I can get to that level where it actually brings more to a drawing than takes. I did this without grids (which I usually use when doing portraits from examples) and she came out like a he -_-;;

Anyway, here's the original so you can see how much I butchered it ---> [link] (yes, the example I had to use is THAT small... ugh. Also, I have no idea who the original artist is >_< )

Media: Vine charcoal, compressed charcoal (CharKole), compressed charcoal pencil (extra-soft), kneaded eraser, white conte crayons (for the hair and highlights), chamois cloth. Whoa, it's been a while since I used so much on a single drawing...

I couldn't see the original to compare, but I love this piece. I wish I could do portraits at all. I like looking at this one and wondering what her story is.
